Co-Lead Minister

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is a called, full-time, Co-Lead Ministerial position and will be an integral part of a team led
congregational church. The Co-Lead Minister will help achieve goals by collaborating with staff and lay leaders to
build partnerships and trust. As a member of this ministry team, the Co-Lead Minister will share preaching,
pastoral care responsibilities, education programming and perform special services.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage as an constructive member of the Ministry Team adding insight and value
  • Assist in supervision of educational programming while cultivating leaders
  • Participate in the planning of weekly worship services and share in preaching responsibilities
  • Assist existing Co-Lead Minister with teaching, mission oversight and pastoral care concerns
  • Serve as an additional staff liaison to church Council, deacons and committees
  • Work with other Co-Lead Minister and Director of Operations regarding staff, facilities and finances

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ordained minister with standing or eligibility for standing in the UCC
  • 8+ years of ministerial experience
  • Willingness to work under a collaborative team model
  • Accepting of people with differing views
  • Able to minister effectively to people in crisis situations and deal effectively with conflict
  • Effective and dynamic preaching abilities
  • Commitment to the theology of the United Church of Christ inclusive of an open and affirming congregation
  • Highly organized with excellent oral/written communication abilities
  • Ability to teach, lead and participate in spiritual formation classes
  • Commitment to lifelong learning, developing theological and biblical skills
  • Self-reflective with high emotional intelligence and sense of ministerial direction
  • Experience in building a sense of fellowship among staff, ministerial team, congregation, lay leader and the community at large
  • Strategic planning and vision casting experience with growth oriented mindset
  • Participate in stewardship development and empowerment of congregational involvement

COMPENSATION | MINISTRY EXPENSES

  • Salary commensurate with experience and conference recommended salary range
