DEMENTIA CAREGIVERS

When: 2nd & 4th Thursdays of each month, 1:00-3:00pm

Where: CSR – Bethany Room

Caring for a loved one with dementia is something you just do. Though done out of love, it can be difficult and emotionally draining for the caregiver.  Because of this, JupiterFIRST is, once again, offering a Dementia Caregivers Support Group. 

Led by Christine VonBallmoos LCSW, this group is designed to be supportive and educational, and will provide the love and resources needed to be an effective caregiver.

ADVENT SHADOW & LIGHT

When: Wednesdays through Advent, 9:30-11:00am

Where: CSR

New 4-week Wednesday morning Advent class began Wednesday, November 17. Led by Lynn Hughes and Laurie Bohlke, they are be reading Tsh Oxenreider’s Shadow & Light, a journey into Advent. We particularly love this book because of its multimedia art and music offerings each day.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

When: Mondays, 6:30-7:30pm | Tuesdays, 2:00-3:00pm

Where: Zoom only on Mondays |CSR & Zoom on Tuesdays

Whether you are an experienced knitter or crocheter or a novice with a desire to learn, this weekly group of serving hearts will welcome you with open arms.

This ministry has been making prayer shawls, afghans, baby blankets and more for our church community and well beyond our doors.

Join other knitters for coffee and conversation as they knit for those who are in physical or spiritual need. Click below to email for more information and the Zoom link. 

LOSS OF A LOVED ONE

When: Sundays, beginning January 23, 2022, 11:15am-12:45pm

Where: CSR

JupiterFIRST will begin a 7 week GriefShare session. This is open to all who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

It will be coordinated by Judy Kelly (LCSW, retired) and Lori Oberacker-Pardue (MS, LMHC).  This will be an in person class with a workbook and a video.  We welcome you to join us. Please sign up below.

Join Pastor Chip, David, Marthe and other members of the JupiterFIRST team as we read and discuss the Revised Common Lectionary readings for the week.

By joining this group, you will be lending your voice, your thoughts and your insights to the weekly sermon and worship service. 

PILATES

When: Wednesdays, 6:00-6:45pm

Where: Zoom

Gain strength and flexibility with your church family in this 45 minute mat Pilates class. Taught by Francesca Masi of https://www.mypetitepilates.com. The cost for each class is $6.

MomsFIRST

When: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm

Where: Center for Spiritual Renewal (CSR)- Emmaus Room

Join Sherlyn Burnham-Kuehn for support, encouragement, spiritual growth, and more! Connect, renew and rejoice in knowing that you have a network of women to help you navigate motherhood  – no matter what age your children are in the process.  Masks will be required at the request of the JupiterFIRST Church Council.  There is no registration fee.

KidCare will be available for kids who are 3 years-VPK (must be fully potty trained and able to wear a mask while inside). KidCare runs from 6:15-7:30pm and pizza will be available for the kids from 6:15-6:30p. At this time, we are unable to provide KidCare for infants or toddlers. Elementary kids are invited to participate in Lighthouse K-5th Youth Group from 6:30-7:30p. Middle school students are invited to participate in The Wave youth group from 6:30-8:30pm (pizza is provided).

OUTSIDE LIFE

When: Fridays, 9:00-11:00am

Where: Various park areas

This group gathers at a different area park each week to discuss spiritually based books. Bring a lawn chair, and enjoy an outdoor discussion about finding God in nature. After the discussion, the group will take a nature walk or hike on a near-by trail.
