The Purpose

Our middle and high school students are so excited for their summer mission trips! This summer, we are offering three mission opportunities for our youth – check them out below. Please consider donating to help offset some or all of the costs. It will take approximately $45,000 to send our 50 kids on mission trips and camp. Our goal is to raise half of that, or $22,500. As of May 9, we have raised $12,111.12!

Our students have been racking up mission service hours where those hours = dollars. Your generous donations will provide those dollars to students who have served our church and/or community in some meaningful way.

You can donate directly here, by choosing the Youth Mission Possible drop down, drop a check (write Youth Mission Possible on the memo line), or use your credit card at the youthFIRST table in the Narthex (or church office). You can also take advantage of one of our fundraising events below!

The Missions

High School - Costa Rica with Pura Vida

Pura Vida mission trips are designed to be a cross-cultural adventure of sharing Jesus Christ and empowering teens to do ministry in Costa Rica and in their hometown. Teamwork is emphasized so that they will return home stronger than ever before. The Pura Vida mission team helps the students to discover God’s vision for how they can serve the Kingdom of God when they return to their local church and community. Students will be given the chance to serve with both construction work and more relational ministry with local families through leading Vacation Bible School for the week.

Rising 8th-Graduating 12th - Tampa Mission with Metro Ministries & The Portico

Metropolitan Ministries, or Met Min, cares for the homeless, and those at risk of becoming homeless, through services that alleviate suffering, promote dignity and instill self-sufficiency…. all as an expression of the ongoing ministry of Jesus Christ. The Portico is a spiritual community and a mission-centered church where justice, restoration and conversation are put into action. They build relationships through a weekly breakfast that serves the hungry and through a missional cafe that impacts homelessness and addiction. We will be serving with both of these ministries inĀ  what promises to be an impactful and amazing mission trip.

Rising 6th-Graduating 12th - Warren Willis Camp

Studies show that an overnight camp experience can significantly impact young people’s development, independence, and self-worth. While with us, campers are given opportunities to exercise leadership skills, make decisions, understand responsibility, be creative, practice independence, and learn to become comfortable with themselves, all in a safe and Christ-centered environment. Middle school camp is for rising 6th through rising 8th graders, while high school camp is for rising 9th through graduating 12th graders. Each camp’s games, curriculum, and worship are separate and age-appropriate.
