Sally Young isn’t just the Pastor’s wife, she is a gifted speaker and leader. Growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, Sally’s family started a church for the unchurched in their living room. Though she was only in Middle School, seeing God work miracles as the church grew from 8 to 1,800 changed the course of her life and set her on a journey to help others experience Christ.
Sally attended college at Samford University, graduating with a degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science. While a student, she began working at the church that had started in her house years earlier. She discovered a passion for adolescents and gift for ministering to students, especially the tumultuous Middle School years. Over a decade later, she was leading a staff of 7 and overseeing a thriving ministry of over a 100 kids.
She met her husband, Kevin, when he came to work at Mountaintop Church, and she began falling in love with him when he volunteered to serve on a Middle School camping trip. They were married in 2006.
Two years later, Kevin felt called to the Senior Pastorate and Sally accepted a more difficult job: full-time mom.
Sally enjoys a good laugh, workouts where you break a sweat, and a good “chick flick.” Her favorite sport is basketball. She adores cruising, and she dreams of retiring with Kevin to an RV and traveling the country together.
She is a dreamer and visionary, loves giving, and is almost always the wisest and most creative person in the room when it comes to church ministry or adolescent issues.
