Unforgettable, Pastor Barry

The Rev. Dr. Barry L. Johnson passed away peacefully, May 29, 2021, with his wife, Barbara, at his side.

We know that Pastor Barry is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is smiling down on us and wanting us to remember, God is good. . . all the time.

“Either way, I win.” That’s what Barry Johnson said to a group of friends who gathered at his house soon after he was diagnosed with brain cancer.  “If I make it, I win.  If I don’t, I win.” He was right.

Barry’s legacy is JupiterFIRST Church. We will never forget this man who spent 50 years serving the Lord, 25 of those years at JupiterFIRST Church.   He brought individuals together, grew a community of faith, and fostered a people who know that God loves them more than they can ever mess up.

A memorial service will be held in the JupiterFIRST Church sanctuary on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm.  Additionally, the service will be streamed live at live.jupiterfirst.org, YouTube and Facebook, for those unable to attend in person.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Barry L. Johnson Memorial Fund to benefit JupiterFIRST Church.  You may contribute below or write a check to the church referencing the fund.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.   – Romans 8

FATHER’S DAY

This year we are excited to be able to offer Father’s Day gifts, for any father in your life, as an additional fund raiser for our church.

Sign up and prepay here or drop by the table in the Narthex each Sunday before Father’s Day, June 20.  Remember your dad, the senior citizen down the street, the best friend who is a dad, the dad in front of you at church that you have been wanting to say hello to. The gift is either a measuring tape on a key chain or a LED flashlight on a key chain packaged in a gift bag with a gift card for $5.00 each. A limited supply will be available on Father’s Day, Sunday June 20, unless you have placed a pre-order.

BE A STUDENT SPONSOR

Our high school students (and those entering high school in the fall) will embark on a mission trip to Green Cove Springs in Jacksonville, Florida from July 25-31.  The students will help restore some low income housing in the area.

The JupiterFIRST high school Mission Trips are a way for the students to grow in their faith, deepen their friendships and open their hearts to a cause greater than themselves.

What can we do?  The cost of this mission trip is $425.00 per student. Our goal is to to help fund every student individually for this mission trip and for those to come.  You may donated below or stop by the Mission Possible table in the Narthex Sunday mornings.
