Facilitated by Lori Oberacker-Pardue, the Partners in Service Team creates opportunities for JupiterFIRST members and friends to serve others—locally and beyond—following the example of Jesus. This group meets monthly to explore new ways to engage in meaningful outreach and build relationships with local organizations. Current efforts include Food on the First and the Annual Gleaning with CROS Ministries, meal service at the Lewis Center, Friends of Foster Children, Kids Closet Clean-Out, and more. The group pauses for the summer and will resume in the fall. To learn more or get involved, please contact the church office below.

This month’s outreach project is Thanksgiving Bags for Low-Income Families.

The first 75 bags will be distributed to El Sol. Any additional bags collected will go to Lake Worth families. On October 12, we will have numbered cards (and empty bags to be filled) containing the following information for each family:

• 1 Box Stuffing (6 oz box)

• 2 Cut Green Beans (15-oz can)

• 2 Whole Kernel Sweet Corn (15-oz can)

• 1 Cornbread Muffin Mix (6.5-oz packet)

• 1 Brown Gravy (1-oz packet)

• 1 Applesauce (15-oz can)

• 1 Mac and Cheese (7.25-oz box)

• 1 Sweet Potato Cuts in Light Syrup (15-oz can)

• 1 Potato Flakes (6.-oz box or pouch)

• 1 Brownie Mix (16.3-oz box)

• $25.00 Gift Card

Note that package sizes are approximate. Please provide items in the size closest to the noted item. In addition, gift cards should be exactly $25—no higher or lower—to be equitable to each family. Purchase gift cards from Publix, Walmart, or Aldi ONLY. Do not include the gift cards with the groceries. Please put Gift Cards in separate envelope.
